About Us

As an office, our goal is to find ways to nurture understanding among all religious groups through dialogue, formation, prayer and collaboration in civic affairs. As part of that goal, we seek to build Christian unity, and we work to deepen interreligious relations with Jews, Muslims and Buddhists and others through initiatives that resonate on a local and global scale.

The work we do reflects our leadership’s personal and professional commitment to ecumenical and interreligious relationship building. Our own Cardinal Blase J. Cupich serves as the co-chair of the USCCB’s National Dialogue Initiative, the National Muslim-Catholic Dialogue, and is a consultant for the U.S. Bishop’s committee for ecumenical and interreligious affairs within the USCCB.
